Who we are

The ATCEK STUDIOS health and fitness app is provided by ATCEK STUDIOS. This privacy policy explains what data the app processes, why it does so, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Questions? Email atcekstudios@hotmail.com.

Your measurements stay on your device

The ATCEK STUDIOS health and fitness app is intentionally designed with privacy in mind. Your health data is read only on your device from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) and is shown only to you. We do not copy those measurements to our servers, and we never sell them or share them with third parties for advertising. We do not use advertising or analytics-tracking technology in the app, and we do not collect an advertising identifier or any similar tracking identifier.

An account is optional. Without one, the app is fully usable and nothing about you is sent to our servers. Even without creating an account, the app may establish an anonymous technical session with our backend so certain optional features work consistently — this session is not linked to your name, email, or any other identifying information, and carries no personal or health data.

If you do create an account, we process your email address (or your Apple ID's private relay, if you sign in with Apple) and session data, and your app settings, goals and consent choices are backed up to our servers so you can restore them on another device. Your health measurements are still not included in that backup.

What data we process

a) Health and fitness data that you make available through Apple Health or Health Connect, such as steps, distance, calories, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), sleep, workouts, weight, water, mindfulness, breathing, oxygen saturation, and temperature. This data is processed only on the device to show your overviews, scores, and insights, and is not uploaded to us.

b) App settings you choose (goals, notification preferences, coaching style, display name, and your consent per data type). These are stored locally. If you have an account, they are also backed up to our servers so you can restore them. Sensitive profile fields (sex at birth, gender identity, menstrual and pregnancy settings, date of birth and height) are deliberately excluded from that backup and never leave the device.

c) If you create an account: your email address and session data, so we can authenticate you. You can create an account using your email address or using Sign in with Apple.

d) If you look up a food product by barcode: the barcode is sent to an external, independent product database — Open Food Facts — to retrieve nutrition information. We do not send your identity or account information with that request.

e) If you use the optional Apple Watch companion app: the same on-device processing principle applies — your Watch shows metrics computed from Apple Health data relayed from your iPhone; nothing from the Watch app is uploaded to our servers either.

We do not collect your location, we do not use advertising or tracking technology, and we do not collect an advertising or device-tracking identifier of any kind.

Subscriptions

The ATCEK STUDIOS health and fitness app offers an optional, paid Pro subscription, purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Your payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see or receive your card details. Apple or Google shares with us only whether you hold an active, valid subscription, so the app can unlock Pro features; we do not receive your payment history or billing address.

Legal basis and special category data

Health data is a special category of personal data under the GDPR. It is processed exclusively on the basis of your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR). You give this consent at two levels: in the operating system (the Apple Health or Health Connect permission screen) and in the app itself, for each data type. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

Withdrawing consent

In the app, you can disable consent for each data type through Profile → Privacy & data. Disabled data types will no longer be read. You can also withdraw access completely in the system settings: on iOS through Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices, selecting the ATCEK STUDIOS health and fitness app, and on Android through the Health Connect app.

Retention and deletion

Your health measurements are not stored by us, so there is nothing to request their deletion for — they remain yours in Apple Health or Health Connect. In the app, you can immediately erase the locally synchronized snapshot and all app settings through Profile → Privacy & data → Erase data. Deleting the app also removes all local settings.

If you have an account, you can permanently delete it through Profile → Account. This removes your account, your settings backup, and any documents you stored with us. Local data on your device is erased separately with the option above. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Apple or Google subscription — subscription cancellation is a separate action, made through the App Store or Google Play, because we do not control your subscription there. Diagnostic information used to improve reliability (for example, whether a particular background health-data refresh succeeded) is sanitized before it is ever stored — it never contains health values, error messages, or anything that identifies you — is off by default, and, when present, stays only on your device; it is not sent to us.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, and transfer your data. For everything stored on your device, you exercise these rights directly in the app: view data in the dashboards, export it through Privacy & data, and erase it on the same page. For account data and the settings backup, use the account deletion option, or email atcekstudios@hotmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Security

Your data is protected by your device's security and by Apple Health or Health Connect (encrypted system storage and access only with your permission). App settings are stored in the operating system's secure, app-specific storage. Because your health measurements are not transmitted, there is no transfer of them that could be intercepted.

If you have an account, account data and your settings backup travel over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and are stored with access rules that allow only your own account to read them. Crash information is captured and kept only on your device — a small, fixed set of non-identifying technical fields (source, category, whether it was fatal). It is not sent to us. If reviewed remote crash reporting is ever added, we will disclose that here first, before it is enabled.

Children

The ATCEK STUDIOS health and fitness app is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect children's data. If you are younger, use the app only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy, for example when we add new features. The date above shows the most recent change. We will announce important changes in the app.
